I start off most days writing morning pages. It’s a cathartic brain dump, it’s part gratitude, part worries, part to do list. It’s a way of talking and connecting to myself and putting out into the universe my ideas, my fears and my desires. It’s also a way to be kind to myself. I end them usually like any other letter you write to someone, with lots of xxxxs and a couple of smiley faces, only I write on these little yellow notepads to myself. Lately I’ve said things like I believe in you. Breathe. Relax. Show them what you’ve got. You’re amazing. You’re going to grow and build a centre of creativity, love and collaboration. And the latest, I am so proud of you!
Getting your shit together and growing requires a level of honesty you can’t even imagine. I don’t like it when someone is too close to me on the bus, because there is some real honest thoughts, chats and names... scribbled on those papers.
Part of getting to a point where you are proud requires you to realise you’re the one that’s been holding you back this whole time. So go and get it, own your growth, make those choices and never forget to remind yourself the core values that drive you, but also tell yourself that you are doing a great job. ‘I am proud of what I have become and what I am becoming!’
